Q

Duplicate vs Repeat

A

Duplicating creates a copy of a clip and places it immediately after the original.
DUPLICATE = ONE OFF OPERATION
Repeating a clip opens the repeat dialog box and allows you to create multiple repetitions in one process.
REPEAT = TO MAKE MULTIPLE COPIES AT ONCE

Q

If you SEPARATE a clip, when will you end up with two clips, and when will you end up with three?

A

If your cursor is in one place and there’s no area selected, one clip will be split at the cursor into two

If you’ve selected an area, one clip will be split in two places - at the beginning of the selection and at the end. You’ll have 3 clips when you’re finished.

The midpoint of the Fade curves will be boosted, to compensate for the volume drop that sometimes occurs when combining significantly different waveforms. Good for crossfading very disimilar clips
38
(Not) Linking a CROSSFADE with the "None" option means -
You can change one half of the crossfade without changing the other half. Click on the small black handle at the beginning or end of a fade curve and drag it to where you want it. Good if you need a specific nonlinear transition.
