A

We can operate “QANTAS OWNER” rectifier units.
Main bus volts not below 27.5 (if below BATT MASTER, MAIN, AUX and STBY batteries off)

We cannot start or operate diesel or non Qantas GPUs.

Contact POCO/MOCO/ Ground agent for assistance. Airport ground handling staff are required to start, connect or shut down equipment

CASR 121.515 specifies that the Pilot in Command of an Air Transport Operation must have adequate knowledge of the route, destination and alternate aerodromes.

Company document (route manual) can be used and then comply form filled in prior to operating.

Refuelling with APU running precautions?
Gravity refuelling is not permitted • Starting or shutting down the APU during refuelling is not permitted • The left main fuel tank must contain sufficient fuel to ensure continuous running of the APU throughout the refuelling process • The fuel truck must be parked at least 9.2 m (30 ft) from the APU exhaust outlet; and • At ports not accustomed to refuelling Dash 8 aircraft, the re-fueller must be advised that the APU will be running

If an initial 24hr system test fails what can we do?
We can do one repeat test. Which may include the restart of engines or depowering of the aircraft.

CCT breaker policy?
Where no specific guidance is provided by QRH, MEL, FDEM technical supplement or SPGRG a CCT breaker may be reset once provided that: A/C is on the ground and no recent history of reported defects. If it pops again the cause must be rectified before resetting the breaker

Pre flight altimeter check
Check altitudes between PFD 1 and 2 does not exceed 60ft and the altitudes displayed are within 60ft of airfield elevation. If one altimeter has an error of between 60ft and 75ft you can fly one sector and recheck it. If it still shows an error in excess of 60ft the altimeter is US. FCOM normal checklist break down

overwing fuelling is not performed, refuelling must stop immediately if fuel vapour is detected inside the aircraft Flight Crew must advise the Cabin Crew when refuelling is to occur whilst passengers are on-board at least one Cabin Crew member present at the main exit door to supervise passengers and ensure that: • The “Fasten Belt” sign is turned OFF, the “No Smoking” sign is turned ON and the aircraft emergency lights are ARMED The passengers onboard must be advised that refuelling is to take place The forward passenger door must be open and boarding equipment must be in place. Areas outside the aircraft that would be used if the aircraft were evacuated must be kept clear during refuelling, • The aisle and exits must be unobstructed The Cabin Crew must be prepared for an immediate evacuation To ensure that this can occur ground staff must be advised if refuelling will or is likely to be in progress during boarding.
