NADP 1 climb
Climb at V2 + 15
At 1500’ reduce to climb thrust
Accelerate to V2 + 25
At 3000’ retract flaps on schedule
NADP 2 climb
Initial climb accelerate at V2 + 15 to V2 + 25
At accelerate height or flap retraction altitude (normally 1000’) retract the flaps and accelerate to 250 or climb speed
At initial flap retraction or 1500 feet if there is a speed restriction, set climb thrust.
Go-around profile
Initiate: TO/GA, Flaps 20 (5 SE) Verify go-around altitude Verify or adjust thrust as needed Positive rate - gear up Limit bank angle to 15 degrees if airspeed is below minimum maneuver speed.
For a manual go-around:
Above 400’:
Select or verify roll mode
Verify MA altitude set in MCP
Verify route tracking
Acceleration Height:
Select speed for planned flap setting or 2 engines select VNAV (Optional).
If VNAV used set speed intervene.
Retract flaps on schedule
After planned flaps are set and at or above the selected flaps speed 2 engines: Verify CLB thrust Verify that the missed approach altitude is captured After TO checklist SE: Select FLCH Verify CON thrust Verify the MA alt is captured After TO checklist
Normal Takeoff
Manually advance thrust to stabilize
Push TO/GA
Takeoff roll
Set takeoff thrust by 80 kts
Monitor airspeed
Maintain light forward pressure
Positive rate - gear up
50’ LNAV engaged (within 2.5 nm)
400’ RA
Select or verify roll mode
Verify VNAV engaged
Initial climb speed V2 + 15
Thrust reduction (normally 1500’)
CLB thrust
V2 + 15 to V2 + 25
Acceleration height flap retraction altitude (normally 3000’)
Retract flaps on schedule
Flaps up • Verify CON thrust (1 engine) • Select and execute ENG OUT (1 engine) • Do the NNC (as needed) • Do the After Takeoff checklist
Instrument Approach using VNAV
On vectors:
HDG SEL
pitch mode as needed
Enroute to fix:
L - arm LNAV or other roll mode
V - select VNAV
S - Select speed intervention as desired
A - If not cleared for approach: set lowest transition altitude or ATC assigned
If cleared for approach and established on a published segment between IAF and FAF: Set DA OR MDA
Approaching intercept heading:
Flaps 5
Intercept heading
Verify RNP
ARM LNAV or select appropriate roll mode
Inbound no later than 2 nvm from FAF:
Gear down, flaps 20, arm speedbrakes
Descent to DA or MDA: Landing flaps Landing checks Verify crossing altitude and cross check altimeter Monitor VNAV path
300’ below MA altitude:
Set MA altitude in MCP
AT DA or MDA:
Disengage A/P no lower than 200’ AGL
Instrument Approach using V/S or FPA
On radar vectors:
Enroute to the fix:
Approaching intercept heading:
- Flaps 5
Intercept heading:
- Arm LNAV or select other roll mode
No later than 2 nm from FAF and after ALT is engaged:
Descent to MDA:
Approximately 300’ above MDA:
- Set missed approach altitude
At MDA:
- Disengage A/P in accordance with regulatory requirements
Instrument Approach using RNAV (RNP) AR
On radar vectors:
Enroute to the fix:
Before being established on final approach course:
- Position flaps as needed to comply with applicable regulatory airspeed requirements.
Intercept heading:
- Arm or verify LNAV
No later than 2 nm from FAF:
Descent to DA:
300’ below missed approach altitude:
- Set missed approach altitude
At DA:
- Disengage A/P in accordance with regulatory requirements
Circling Approach
If a missed approach is needed at any time while circling, make an initial climbing turn toward the landing runway and intercept the missed approach course.
