My Job: LOOK FOR INNOVATIVE APPROACHES TO REDUCE THE MDR. THIS INCLUDES:
• Deployment of officers is appropriate for traffic conditions and focused in high collision areas (PERFORM A TRAFFIC COLLISION STATISTICAL STUDY)
• Traffic congestion is relieved through the three E’s (engineering, enforcement, education)
• Focus enforcement on:
• Seat Belts (education, child seats)
• DUI (enforcement and education)
• Commercial Veh (enf and edu)
• Distracted Driving Insure officers are doing their
job by:
1. Beat accountability
2. In-view patrol
3. Targeting PCF violations

• Ask for officer’s / sgt’s participation for suggestions (helps to achieve buy-in)
• Attend briefings/ride-longs to remind officers/sgts about strategic plans
• Utilize Public Information Officer (media, social media, high schools, PSA, community safety fairs)
• CHP Programs: Age well drive smart, M/C safety program, Child safety seat installations, Impaired Driving, Start Smart, Impact Teen Driving, Right Turn
  External Resources (CalTrans, Allied Agencies, FSP, town hall meetings)
• OTS Grants to enhance enforcement possibilities
  Actively manage traffic incidents, Program 10 stats
  Community Outreach - Partnerships/Problem Solving/ Prop 64 issues
