• avoid lifting >10lbs (gallon of milk)
• avoid trunk rotation (twisting) –> use log rolling technique for bed mobility
• don spinal orthosis prior to mobilization
• no WB restrictions

What are the precautions for a sternotomy?

• no pushing/pulling with UEs
• no UE ROM >90 flx
• avoid lifting >10lbs (gallon of milk)
• driving typically restricted
• UEs are NWB
