Manually parallel a generator

1. Inform the Chief
2. Carry out a full check of the engines parameters
   - LO pressure, Oil level in sump, oil level in turbo, oil level in governer, JWC temps, FO pressure
3. Open indicator cocks and engage turning gear
4. Turn engine on turning gear and check indicator cocks.
5. Disengage turning gear, drain air start line and turn engine on air.
6. close indicator cocks and open fuel to the system.
7. Make way up to switchboard and see that the generator is ready for a start
8. start generator and observe the generator frequency and voltage is same as busbar
9. Change selctor to the incoming generator on synchroscope and observe the phase rotation (slow clockwise)
10. when the indication on the synchroscope is at 11’oclock close the breaker and immediately start to load shar using the governer control.
    with the load shared, switch off the synchroscope and leave the switchroom.
