They burn mostly coal to provide energy to make electricity. Coal is the #1 fuel to generate electricity. Then once it’s made, it gets transmitted along power lines to factories, shops, and homes.

2. The coal is burnt in a boiler to heat water into steam.
3. The steam creates lots of pressure that passes along pipes that lead to wind turbines.

Answer 3

Coal is burnt to turn water into steam. The steam powers the wind turbines. The turbines are connected to a generator that turns as well. Electricity is produced in the generator and gets carried by thick cables to other places. Substations and transformers carry the right amount of electricity to each place, eg: factories, houses and shops.
