2hrs: CLD
4hrs: human milk
6hrs: non-human milk, light meal (toast, CLD), infant formula
8hrs: fatty/fried meal

When do you give infective endocarditis PPX?

Answer 3

1) if patient has h/o:
- prosthetic valves
- previous IE
- vascular HD s/p heart transplant
- un-repaired cyanotic CHD
- repaired CHD w/ prosthesis in first 6mo
- repaired CHD w/ residual defects

OR if

• dental procedures
• respiratory biopsy
• infected skin/skin sutures, MSK tissue
