- common interests= increased interaction and attitudes (positive and negative) towards each other
What is the Social Exchange Theory?
- implicit expectation of mutual beneficial exchanges based on trust and obligation
- perception that group relationship will be positive and worth being apart of
What is the Social Identity Theory?
- based on membership in groups (self esteem)
- demographically based, culturally, organizationally
- motivated to belong and contribute/ sense of self worth and belonging
