What is Christianity?
Christians believe in one God who loves everyone. They follow Jesus, who they think is God’s son and taught people to be kind and help others. They read a book called the Bible, use the symbol of the cross, go to church, and celebrate holidays like Christmas and Easter.
What is Judaism / Jewish?
Jewish people believe in one God who created the world. They follow special rules from a book called the Torah and celebrate holidays like Hanukkah and Passover. The men cover their heads with little hats. They pray in places called synagogues and try to live good, honest lives.
What is Islam / Muslim?
Muslims believe in one God, called Allah, and follow the teachings of a man named Muhammad, who they believe was God’s messenger. The women cover their heads, and sometimes even their faces. They read a book called the Quran, pray five times a day, and celebrate holidays like Ramadan.
What is Hindu?
Hindus believe in many gods, like Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, who help the world in different ways. They pray at temples and read books like the Vedas and celebrate festivals like Diwali, the festival of lights. Hindus try to live good lives and respect all living things. They think all living things have a soul.
What is Buddhism / Buddhist?
Buddhists follow the teachings of a man named Buddha, who taught people to be calm, kind, and wise. They pray at temples. They don’t worship a god but try to find peace by meditating and being good. They celebrate days like Vesak and read teachings called the Dharma.
