Swashplate
Assembly
A
- Mounted on the slider shaft
- Transmit control
movements to the rotors by
either manual inputs or
DAFCS inputs - Can be both tilted and
moved vertically.
Movement transferred to
the rotor blades through
pitch-change links and
pitch-varying housings on
the rotor head. - The swiveling, pivoting,
and LCT actuators all make
inputs to the swashplate
assemblies - Stationary Ring: mounted
on a spherical bearing (uniball)
and allows swashplate
to tilt in any direction. - Rotating ring: mounted on
the ball bearing assembly
and allows the ring to rotate - Ball bearing assembly:
installed between the
rotating and stationary
rings. - Ball Spherical Bearing
(Uni-Ball): stationary rung
mounted to it and allows
swashplate to tilt.

Slider Shaft
A
- The Fwd slider shaft is
mounted to the fwd
transmission and the aft
slider shaft is mounted to
the aft vertical shaft - Used to keep the swashplate
vertically aligned. - As thrust lever changes are
made, swashplate will move
up/down the slider shaft

Longitudinal Cyclic Trim Actuators (LCTs)
A
- Provides cyclic feathering
input into the rotor system
using commands from the
DAFCS. - Maintain A/C at a level
attitude, based on airspeed
and altitude. - When on ground, the WOW
switches drive LCTs to
ground

Fixed Link
A
- Measures the stress on each
rotor system and displays
info on the CGI. - The higher indication from
the two fixed links (1 on
each rotor) is displayed

Drive Collar and Drive Arm Assembly
A
- The fwd drive collar is mounted to the fwd transmission output shaft.
- The aft drive collar is mounted to the top of aft vertical shaft.
- Drive arm assembly transmits rotational torque to the rotating ring of the swashplate

Link
A
- Mounted to the rotating ring of the swashplate and the pitch horn on the rotor head
- Provide direct input for pitch changes to the rotor hub

- Keeps rain, ice, and snow out of the aft pylon/fwd transmission area.

Tie Bar
A
- Laminated steel bar
allowing for flexibility and
twisting while providing
high tensile strength. - Passes through the HHP and
connects the pitch varying
housing to the pitch varying
shaft - Allows for change in pitch
of the rotor blades

Vertical Hinge Pin (VHP)
A
- Attaches the rotor blade to
the pitch-varying housing - Allows the blade to lead
and lag.

Lubrication
System
A
- Each rotor head contains 7 separate lubrication hubs.
o Central Oil Tank
o Three Pitch varying housing tanks
o 6 vertical hinge pin tanks (3 separate systems) - Half way on the sight glass indicates it is properly filled.
