• In standard form contracts, if a term is unusual or overly onerous, the party seeking to rely on it must take reasonable measures to draw it to the attention of the signing party. A signature is merely evidence of assent; if the offeror knows or ought to know the offeree did not read the document, they cannot rely on the signature alone.
