Inside a solenoid
Magnetic field lines are evenly spread and point in the same direction (almost uniform)
Outside a solenoid
Field lines change direction and are not evenly spaced
How can the strength of the solenoid be increased?
-increase the current
-more turns
-move the turns closer
-put a soft iron core in the middle of the solenoid (a material which is magnetically soft can be easily magnetised and demagnetised)
