S1.29- Implement a range of strategies to support children’s early years literacy skills.
A structured approach such as guided reading will allow the children to independently read which is crucial for fluency. The teacher can model the book, then the child can read the text indivdually.
EYE 1.2 & 1.3- Understand the expected patterns of children’s development from birth to 5 years and have an understanding of further development from age 5-7.
Children’s development patterns to include:
- Cognitive
- SLC
- Physical
- Emotional
- Neurological & brain development.
EYE 1.7 & 1ah- Explain how babies and children’s learning and development is affected by significant events in their lives.
Analyse and explain how cultural background and family circumstances can impact of babies and children’s learning and development.
S1.25- Support and promote children’s speech, language and communication development using a range of strategies, such as:
- Using bi-lingual resources
- Using an interpreter
