• presence of severe injuries
• significant chronic illness
• amputated part severely crushed/contaminated
• > 50 yrs old
• avulsion injury
• cooling of amputated part delayed > 6hrs
• only 1 finger(x thumb/index) amp
• reimplantation prox to insertion FDS tendon on middle phalanx may x improve overall hand function

Technique persevation severed digits

Answer 2

• cool to 4 degree
• wrap in saline soaked gauze
• place in zip-lock bag
• put in plastic bag
• then put in very cold water(ice slurry) in jar
