Test 1 Flashcards

Q

How was your first solo flight?

A

My first solo flight was in 2013. I was flying a Cessna 152 in Campinas, São Paulo.

I remember the weather was good, with calm winds, good visibility, and a clear sky. The flight was a traffic pattern by myself, and I flew for around 20 minutes. I remember I made a very good landing.

After landing, I celebrated with my family and friends, and of course, I paid for the barbecue.

Q

What will the aviation industry in Brazil be like in 10 years?

A

It is a hard question for me because I am not sure about the future, but I believe the aviation industry in Brazil will grow.

I believe there will be more flights and better airports.

Technology will improve, making flights safer and more efficient.

I also think airlines will use more modern aircraft.

Overall, aviation in Brazil will be better and more developed.

Q

What are you doing to keep your flying skills up to date?

A

As a pilot, I study regularly because rules and procedures are always changing.

I also perform simulator training every year and fly as often as possible to stay up to date and safe.

Basically, I study, fly, and train as much as I can.

Q

Which conditions can lead to a low fuel situation?

A

A low fuel situation can be caused by poor flight planning, stronger headwinds, holding delays, deviations, fuel leaks, or incorrect fuel calculations.

Q

In your opinion, is this a medical or a police problem?

A

I think it’s both. Since we don’t know what caused this problem, I would prefer to request police and medical services to keep the situation under control.

Q

What is a Driftdown procedure?

A

Honestly

I am not entirely sure what a drift-down procedure is, because my aircraft does not have this procedure, and I have not received training for it.

However, if I am not wrong, a drift-down procedure happens after an engine failure, when the aircraft needs to descend and avoid obstacles.

Q

Why are drones dangerous?

A

Drones are dangerous because they can hit the aircraft, causing a cracked windshield, structural damage, or even engine failure.

Q

What can cause a depressurization?

A

Depressurization can be caused by dual engine failure, a problem in the air conditioning system, a fuselage rupture, or a cracked windshield.

Q

What is the function of the elevator?

A

The elevator’s function is to increase or decrease the pitch of the aircraft. It controls the up-and-down movement of the nose.

Q

What are the pros and cons of runway preparation in belly landing situation?

A

The benefits of runway preparation are reducing the risk of fire and sparks, protecting the fuselage, and decreasing structural damage.

The disadvantage is that the aircraft may be harder to control on the runway and may take longer to stop.

Q

How can a pilot avoid bad weather conditions?

A

We can avoid bad weather conditions by performing good flight planning, reading weather forecasts and reports.

We can also avoid it by using the weather radar correctly, listening to pilot reports, making doglegs, and performing visual deviations.

Q

Airline companies should constantly invest in flight crew training because human error is the biggest cause of accidents in aviation. (Do you agree or disagree with this statement)

A

I agree with this statement because regular training is a very good way to reduce human error.

Companies should invest in good training equipment and simulators so that, in a real emergency, crew members know exactly what to do.

Training is one of the best ways to increase flight safety.
