What is a TOS (Trusted Operating System)?
An operating system that meets strict security standards and provide strong controls by enforcing stringent security policies that rely on mandatory access controls
What is an EAL (Evaluation Assurance Level)?
A rating system used in Common Criteria to measure how well a product (like an operating system, firewall, or app) has been tested and evaluated for security assurance
What is MAC (Mandatory Access Control)?
Access permissions are determined by system administrators and enforced by the operating system
What is SELinux (Security-Enhanced Linux)?
Set of controls that are installed on top of another Linux distribution like CentOS or Red Hat Linux
What is Trusted Solaris?
Offers secure, multi-level operations with MAC, detailed system audits, and data/process compartmentalization
