why has the Peacekeeping UN had major critisims

A

-crimes against vulnerable citizens
-being inactive in the DR of congo in 2014 where peace keepers failed to provide assisstance in Mavivi after attacks and failed to respond to repeated calls for help
-UNs kosvo mission allegedly had many crimes involving 70 murders, 100 of theft, 800 counts of sexual assult

UN critisms

A

-In 2013, Saudi Arabia was elected as a member of the UN Human Rights Council, a body that elects states who uphold the highest standards of human rights. It was later found that the UK had influence on this decision through secret voting trade deals, which eventually allowed Saudi Arabia (a country generally known for its poor human rights) to be elected.
-UN critisised for not preventing the 1971 bangladesh genocide
-accused of being inactive in many cases where aid or intervention is desperatly needed. some say the un have the inability to prevent conflicts
-Peacekeeping UN has major critisims

A

-UN sanctions have allwed inequalities and injustices to be resolves
-UN punishes countries that do not abide by internationsl laws such as imposing several sanctions on iran to deter irans use of nuclear enrichments and reprocessing
-promotes economic, social and environmental growth through the creation of international treaties and goals
