What is internal validity?
Refers to whether the effects observed in an experiment are due to the manipulation of the independent variable (IV) and not other factors.
What is external validity?
Refers to generalising to other areas outside the research setting.
What is face validity?
Form of validity where a tool measures what it is supposed to.
What is concurrent validity?
The extent to which a psychological measure is in agreement with pre-existing measures that test the same concept.
What is temporal validity (external validity)
Ine extent to which research findings can be successtully applied across time (some researen studies are outdated).
