Pride -
My work to me is a vocation - I am proud of what I do and the organization in which I work. Consequently I look to improve:
I believe that all of us have pride in what we do - This is why we are here. No one has joined this organization with the intention to do a bad job. Therefore - bringing about the focus of the organization is how I achieve motivation - Through an individuals pride.
Instilling pride, allows for the self motivation without the reliance on external recognition.
Honesty / Sincerity
It is important to me that we are honest and sincere about:
That we reflect on the results we have achieved and have some critical learning. I have seen the dangers of celebrating ‘wins’ which were more service recovery that an achievement.
Reflective / Curious
I find reflection and curiosity help with the following:
Finding out how other people dealt with a similar problem - Did it work
What went wrong and why
What is up and coming to assist me deal with that problem.
Bold
I enjoy the challenge of making difficult decisions.
And this goes hand in hand with my pride. I am not afraid to take a personal risk if it means that the team or the organization will succeed.
I will make a bold decision if I believe it to be the right decision.
I feel that I can ‘Try’ ‘fail’ ‘learn’ adapt.
