What is the difference between a public and private network type?

A

Private: PC is discoverable and may be used for folder or printer sharing (only do this when connecting to a trusted network)
Public: The Windows Firewall is configured to block all access and make the host undiscoverable.
Use private when you trust the network and public when you don’t trust.
