Childs pose

A

the rounding of the spine can help stretch the lumbar spine
progression - add side flexion by walking hands to the side
regression - changing arm position, dont go as far to heels
dosage trying to reach creep 1 minute is optimal, look at what is tolerable and what we are aiming for
- stretch build up to 1 minute if cant tolerate to begin with little and often not pushing/straining
- fear of movement look at reps building up their comfort level

remember to coach breathing aswell

A

lumbar flexion –> lumbar extension - mobility exercise
bring gaze forward as you bring hips towards the ground, continue to lift gaze to the ceiling, return to childs pose
regression start on the floor, forearms on the floor and push through to look up
progression
goal will vary patient to paitent
- mobility 3 x 30 sec moving in and out
- some patients may find it more beneficial to hold the stretch for longer
