A

1 . Social mobility
* The changes in wealth, education and occupation through a person’s life, meaning class now isn’t decide from birth
* e.g. Wayne Rooney born in lower class and moved up to upper class

2 . Still class divisions, but more fluid, less defined
* Mix of classes in sports
* Middle class still dominating certain sports - rugby - but now as professional
* More lower classes attracted to some professional sports e.g. association football

3 . Change in views on amateurism and professionalism - every one wants to become professional

1 . NGB’s set clear rules on drugs in sport, equality and discrimination

2 . Players/ coaches/ referees now can be sued for negligence
* e.g. Rugby referee being sued for poor control of the scrum
* Jose Mourinho being sued for sexual discrimination

3 . Increased criminal prosecutions against sports people for violent conduct
