How are bacteria used to transfer genetic information
A
- Bacteria contain a portable ring of DNA called a plasmid
- A restriction enzyme is used to cut the plasmid
- Ligase enzyme then sticks the desired gene inside the plasmid
- The plasmid can then be re-inserted as used to create other bacteria that have the new gene
