The stomach, and particualarly the parathyroid (balances magnesium and calcium).

What is the test for the Levator Scapulae?
Client supine with testing arm tucked into the ribs and bent up at the elbow so that the hand rests on the shoulder. The head is tilted to the same shoulder and the other arm is above the head in an arc.
Tester places hand on the bent elbow and presses out from the body whilst the client holds the elbow into the body.
Stabilisation on the shoulder.
Lavator Scapulae NL and NV points?
NL front: 1st rib near sternum and just under clavicle
NL back: Between C5 and T1 either side of spine.
Also on the outer edge of the scapula going in an inward direction almost under the scapula (may be painful).
NV: Frontal eminences
What are the origin and insertion points for the Lavator Scapulae and what is the function?
Origin: Transverse processes of the cervial vertebrae C1 - 4
Insertion: Top of shoulder blade closest side to the spine.
The muscle lifts the scapular, flexes the head and neck and rotates the head and neck to the same side as the muscle.

What is the test for the Neck Flexors?
Head up from table, testers hand supporting back of head
1. Tester push head to table whilst testee holds head up
2. Tester turns head to the right and repeats
3. Tester turns head to left and repeats.
What are the NL and NV points for the Neck Flexors?
NL front: Between 2nd and 3rd ribs, just below clavicle
NL back: C2 (top of neck) either side of spine.
NV: Ramus of the jaw (where jaw turns to ear)

Client prone (on tummy) Head up from table, testers hand supporting front of head
1. Tester push head to table whilst testee holds head up
2. Tester turns head to the right and repeats
3. Tester turns head to left and repeats.
What are the NL and NL points for the Neck Extensors?
Same as for Neck Flexors!
NL front: Between 2nd and 3rd ribs, just below clavicle
NL back: C2 (top of neck) either side of spine.

Same as for Neck Flexors
What meridian are the Hamstrings linked to?
Large Intestine
(Metal, grief, 5am - 7am)
What is the MMT for the Hamstrings?
Prone, flex knee to 60 deg (if you take to 90 deg, muscle may cramp)
Place hand before ankle, push down whilst client holds up.
Support on hip or, if hamstring prone to cramp, hold on hamstring fibres with firm pressure. Ensure pelvis doesn’t tilt.
What are the NL and NV points for the Hamstrings?
NL front: inner thigh
NL back: L5 and PSIS
(sacrum rock if bilateral)
NV: Parietial eminance (widest part of head)
What meridian are the Abdominals linked to?
The Small Intestine
(Fire, joy, 1pm - 3pm)
What is the test for the Abdominals?
Testee crosses arms with hands on opposite shoulders. Leans back to 60 - 75 deg.
Tester places hand on cross point of both arms, supports the back
1. Tester pushes back while testee resists
2. Tester pushes on L shoulder
3. Tester pushes on R shoulder
4. Turn testee to left, push on R shoulder
5. Turn Testee to right, push on L shoulder
6. For lower abdominal test, raise leg (straight) to 45 deg and tester pushes down.
7. Test other leg.

NL Front: Inner thigh
NL Back: L5 and PSIS area
NV: Parietal eminences (widest part of head)

What meridian is related to the Upper Trapezius?
Kidney Meridian but linked to the eyes and ears.
(Water, Anxiety/Fear, 5pm - 7pm)
What are the indications of imbalance for the Upper Trapezius?
Eye strain, blurred vision, conjunctivitis, ear infections, some hearing loss (more often in lower ranges) and headaches.
Skin probs if blood filtration is not 100%
Linked to bone marrow, head hair, ears, genitals, and knees.
What is the test for the Upper Trapezius?
Tilt head/ear to shoulder. Testee to hold, tester to push apart (one hand on side of head, one on top of shoulder)
