What is the purpose of a special flight permit?
Issued for an aircraft that is safe but not airworthy
-flying to maintenance or storage
-delivery of an aircraft
-evacuating the aircraft
-customer demo flights
How do you get a special flight permit?
Contact the FSDO with:
-Purpose of the flight
-Proposed itinerary
-Ways the aircraft is un-airworthy
-Any crew required
-Anything else they should know
Once issued, the flight must follow the agreed upon itinerary. If you must deviate, a new permit has to be requested.

Oxygen requirements above 12500
If the cabin pressure altitude is above 12500 for more than 30 mins, minimum required crew must use supplemental oxygen
Oxygen requirements above 14000
If cabin pressure altitude is above 14000, minimum crew must use supplemental oxygen for the whole time
Oxygen requirements above 15000
If cabin pressure altitude is above 15000, each occupant must be provided with oxygen

Flying above FL250, a 10 minute supply of oxygen must be available
