What are 6 general guidelines for creating graphs

A
  1. Use appropriate axis lengths and intervals
  2. graphs should be an appropriate size an layout to show sufficient detail
  3. Do not use shaded backgrounds or gridlines
  4. When presenting many lines or curves on one graph use different line styles (or colours) and provide a distinct legend for them within the field of the graph
  5. The y-axis title must face toward the graph. The variables measured must be clearly indicated on each axis along with units. Wavelength for absorbance
  6. Must have a full caption that explains what each factor represents
