AUTO_001
Explain which roll modes are affected by the Bank Angle Select Knob?
Note: During FMS NAV mode operations, AOB limit is 15° if NAV is engaged, slats are extended and the airspeed is less than the AFMC computed minimum speed.
AUTO_003
Understand when do auto throttles engage in Clamp (CLMP) Mode?
AUTO_004
Understand that in IAS/MACH mode, the pitch changes with the movement of the throttles:
AUTO_005
Recall the function of the IAS MACH Pitch Mode Select Button:
AUTO_007
Recall that in VERT SPD and ALT HLD modes, airspeed is controlled by autothrottles which are programmed by the SPD/MACH select knob:
AUTO_009
Explain the indications when autothrottles are disconnected:
THROTTLE Warning Light (red) flashes. Pushing autothrottle disconnect button on either throttle or re-selecting AUTO THROT switch to AUTO THROT position extinguishes light.
AUTO_010
Explain the conditions and indications when the autopilot is disconnected:
The AP is disengaged and the red AP warning light on FMA flashes in the following conditions:
NOTE - In addition, flashing AP light is accompanied by aural and vocal warnings in all AP disengagements. The loss of electrical power will also disengage the autopilot, however, the warning light will not illuminate and vocal warning will not sound.
AUTO_011
Explain the meaning of ALFA SPD annunciation in the throttle window of the FMA:
AUTO_012
Describe Flight Mode Annunciator (FMA) windows:
The four FMA windows are (from left to right):
AUTO_014
Explain how AUTOLAND mode of the auto flight system may be disarmed after autoland has been armed and both the localizer and glideslope are in the track mode:
Once the autoland has been armed and both the localizer and glideslope are in the track mode (LND, LOC/TRK, GS/TRK) the autoland may be disengaged by accomplishing any of the following:
AUTO_017
Explain the flight director commands given when TOGA is selected during takeoff and go around (pitch & roll)
Pitch Commands:
Roll commands:
AUTO_034
Understand the FMA annunciation CLMP and when it is displayed:
CLMP (Controls Locked Manual Power):
AUTO_035
Understand the FMA annunciation FMS SPD and when it is displayed:
FMS SPD – (FMS VNAV mode engaged.) Throttles being controlled by FMS to maintain speed.
AUTOP_037
Understand the FMA annunciation FMS EPR and when it is displayed:
FMS EPR – (FMS VNAV mode engaged.) Throttles being controlled by FMS to maintain EPR.
AUTO_042
Recall when the HDG select knob is fully pushed in the heading hold mode is engaged:
Pushed to Full Detent:
AUTO_043
Recall when the HDG select knob is pushed to the first detent only fast rate of heading select is provided.
Pushed to First Detent – Provides fast rate of heading adjustment.
AUTO_044
Recall that adjusting vertical speed during altitude capture will disengage the altitude capture mode and revert to vertical speed mode:
In ALT CAP, ALT HLD, or VNAV modes, vertical speed rate adjustments after altitude capture will disengage altitude capture mode , and pitch control reverts to vertical speed mode.
AUTO_045
Understand when SPD SEL (Speed Select) Mode can be engaged:
SPD SEL or MACH SEL can be engaged during any phase of flight except when TO, GA or TO FLX is selected on TRP or retard mode is engaged.
Understand when the autopilot/flight director will revert to vertical speed when engaged in SPD SEL (Speed Select) mode:
If the autothrottle is engaged in SPD SEL or MACH SEL mode after the autopilot/FD was engaged in either IAS or MACH mode, the AP/FD will revert to vertical speed mode at existing vertical speed and the VERT SPD annunciation will flash for 5 seconds on the FMA.
Note: Pitch Profile Readout/window on FGCP will display/ capture existing vertical speed when SPD SEL is pressed.
