AFDS STATUS ANNUNCIATIONS
FLT DIR - Flight director is on and autopilots are not engaged.
A/P - The autopilots are engaged.
LAND 3 - Autopilot system level of redundancy is such that a single fault cannot prevent the autopilot system from making an automatic landing (fail operational).
LAND 2 - Level of redundancy is such that a single fault cannot cause a significant deviation from the flight path (fail passive)
NO AUTOLAND - The AFDS is unable to make an automatic landing
An EICAS message is displayed for any fault which limits the capability of the
automatic landing system. Aural alerts for EICAS messages not affecting safety
of flight are inhibited until after touchdown. Changes in autoland status below
200 feet other than transition to NO AUTOLAND status are inhibited
HUD TO/GA (Takeoff)
On takeoff, HUD provides lateral guidance for takeoff roll and rejected takeoff using ILS or GLS signals. Selecting a HUD TAKEOFF departure in the FMC and turning either flight director ON sets HUD TO/GA as the engaged rollmode on the PFD and HUD.
HUD takeoff requires the ILS or GLS to be auto-tuned.
HUD guidance becomes active and cue appears when the airplane approaches the runway center line and airplane heading is within 45° of runway heading.
When TO/GA mode is selected, the HUD symbology automatically changes
to full mode symbology and the HUD symbology control switch is inhibited.
