-everyone is born as a blank slate
-all behaviour is learnt from out environment
-behaviour can be understood through a stimulus response approach ie CC or the mechanisms of rewards and reinforcement ie OC
how do behaviourist measure things
-only behaviour which can be observed can be measured eg through lab based, scientific methods, animal research etc
