Cuboid
V = lbh
= Length * breadth * height
Prism
V = Ah
= Area * height
Area
triangle
A = 1/2 bh
= 1/2 * base * height
Cylinders
V = πr²h
= π * radius² * height
Pyramid
V = 1/3 Ah
= 1/3 * Area * height
Cones
V = 1/3 πr²h
= 1/3 * π * radius² * height
Spheres
V = 4/3 πr(3)
= 4/3 * π * radius(3)
Hemispheres
V = 2/3 πr²
= 2/3* π * radius²
How do you work backwards with volumes?
Imagine it like ex… 3x = 9 (your trying to find x so you divide by 3 on both sides
You write the formula out and put in all the information you have for example (pyramid)
The volume is 378 and the area is 9 times 9
378 = (1/3 * 81) * h
378 = 27h
So you divide both sides by 27 to isolate the h then you flip it and you get your answer of
H = 14
