Q

๐Ÿ”ฅ How Does a Catalyst Work?

A

A catalyst lowers the activation energy (the energy needed for particles to react)

This means:

More particles now have enough energy to react

So, there are more successful collisions

๐Ÿ‘‰ Reaction happens faster

Q

๐Ÿ‘€ How to Spot a Catalyst:

A

It makes the reaction go faster

But it doesn’t appear in the balanced equation (because it isnโ€™t used up)

You can identify it by comparing reactions with and without the catalyst
