What does VDMONA mean?
A
Variation= difference between magnetic and true north
Deviation= caused by metals/electrical systems in the aircraft
Magnetic Dip= the magnetic field in the earth causes the magnets in the compass to dip towards the earth
Oscillation= turbulence
Northerly turning errors= UNOS (correction:half latitude plus 15)
Acceleration errors= ANDS
