Red blood cells (erythrocytes):

White blood cells:
1) . help defend the body from infection and disease
2) . Monocytes: related to the free macrophages in other tissues
3) . Lymphocytes: dominant cell type in lymph
4) . Eosinophils and neutrophils: phagocytes
5) . Basophils: promote inflammation
Platelets:
1) . membrane-enclosed packets of cytoplasm
2) . seals leaks in damaged or broken blood vessels
Lymph
1). forms an interstitial fluid and then enters lymphatic vessels, small passageways that return it to the cardiovascular system.
