• Boiler is purged of exhaust gases & products of combustion
• A spark is ignited between the 2 electrons then the pilot burner will feed diesel which will create a flame
• The flame eye senses the light from the burner & the fuel p/p starts & fuel is supplied by a solenoid operated valve
• When the flame eye senses this larger flame the pilot burner will stop
• Air flow then reduces & stabilises for stable ignition
