If still in Water & Victim is Apneic

Rescue breathes if possible

Once Pt is out of Water

Answer 2

• Remove victim from water ASAP
• Perform rescue breathing if apneic until out of water (if able)
• CPR if victim is in cardiac arrest once on solid ground
• Provide supplemental oxygen and monitor pulse oximetry
• Remove wet clothing & Dry Pt, warm victim if hypothermic
• Spinal precautions IF concern for traumatic injury (diving into a pool, etc.)
• Obtain blood glucose
• Place victim on EKG monitoring
• Transport Pt if still Symptomatic or Hypoxic
