Can only take a Medium or Low Speed aspect with a U or C as not electrified past the next points that will cross us over.
DANGER: Normal aspect and/or W or a Y, S3, S4 or S5 will be either signalling into WSF Servicing or into non-electrified West Main.
The West Main is now fully electrified from north of Homai to the Otahuhu 1652 points.
All West Main signals will mirror all up and down main signals in both up and down directions.
Are you reading the correct signal for you?
Not all West Main signals will be equipped with W boards and arrows. This should not be relied on. Count your signals; count tracks!
West main signal down direction before the Manukau branch line goes off on the down.
Do not take a Medium or Low Speed aspect with a flashing “U” or “D” on the route indicator as the points beyond this are not electrified. These are for the freight trains to crossover for the loading siding.
Both West car siding roads will be shorter with derailing points and ground lights moved west. You must pull right up to the blue and white cat eye markers to clear 80 and 83 ground lights.
West Car Siding 1:
~ 104 shunt signal moved onto a 1 m post to improve signal sighting.
West Car Siding 2:
- Will be at least 30m shorter, but still fit an EMU6.

We will be wanting to see a “W1” leading to West Car Exchange 1 or a “W2” leading to West Car Exchange on the theatre box for those signals.
Henderson up home signals have been moved closer to Sunnyvale.
The 1112 ground light has been moved closer to Henderson stabling.
All motor points have been replaced with CTS2 points.
After being signalled from Otahuhu platform to the West Main in the down direction, your first signal will be Directing signal 1643, which has a theatre box.
Do not take a “U” or a “D” Route Indicator. Unlike signal 1811 at Wiri, these indications do not flash.
1651 points are not electrified!
Route Risk!
From the centre or up main in the down direction at Otahuhu platform do not take an “S” on the root indicator as this leads to unelectrified shunt sidings.
