How do you reset ETCS?

Answer 1

1. Park brake must be applied
2. Reverser in neutral
3. Main Res pressure must be above 850 kPa
4. Open Control Page Common Menu
5. Select “Reset ETCS”
6. ETCS will shut down and restart - this will take approx 3 mins
7. Once ETCS HMI shows “Brake Test Pending”, move the Reverser to Fwd so the Emergency Brake tests can be completed
8. Complete ETCS initialisation input and select “Start”

How many times should you attempt to reset ETCS before isolating ETCS?

If the ETCS reset process fails three times, the driver must isolate ETCS.

Actuate ETCS isolation switch on the back wall.

What do you need to be aware of when ETCS is isolated?

Answer 4

1. The driver must drive at Restricted Speed as the train will not limit itself to 40 kph.
2. Must not exceed 25 kph through turnouts
3. Driver must manually open and close the VCB when transiting the Neutral Section
