• neuromuscular instability/tetany
• paresthesias to perioral region hands and feet, muscle cramps
• seizures, laryngospasm, bronchospasm
• Trousseau’s sign: carpopedal spasm with inflation of a BP cuff for >3 minutes
• Chovstek’s sign: contraction of the ipsilateral facial muscle induced by tapping of the facial nerve in front of the ear (present in 10% of normal people)
• Cardio: hypotension, congestive heart failure, prolonged QT, dysrhythmia.
