Caution 1 - why should engine start be aborted by moving the condition leaver to cut off/feather and blow the engine for 10 seconds?

  • No TOT rise within 3 seconds
  • TOT at 927°C for one second
  • TOT between 810°C and 927°C for more than 10 seconds.
  • Propeller does not turn by 25% N1

  • OIL LO PRESS caption is not out by 60% N1
  • Propeller and feathering does not start by the time N1 stabilises

A
  • if the condition lever is moved to cut off/feather position below 12% N1

Caution 4 - if fuel vapour or fumes are seen during a blow or a start before the condition lever is moved forward of cut off/feather what should be done.

A
  • do not continue to blow or start and ensure condition lever is at cut off/feather.
  • conduct a 30 second motoring room if required.

Caution after N1 & TOT… Monitor— If N1 decay below 60% or TOT approaches 810°C what should be done?

A

Deselect generator and increase M1 to 70% before resetting generator to on
