16
Q

What is DMA

A

Departmental Management Audit

17
Q

What is EDMAT

A

DMA generates OQE which receives and stored the data.

18
Q

What is engineering authority

A

An individual who is assigned engineering authority is delegated authority to make technical decisions or provide advice concerning ADF maritime materiel

19
Q

What is ERUS

A

ERUS is Engineering Ready Use Stores. The holdings of ERUS is discouraged - however during deployments ERUS can be approved - must be visible for CASMAT routines

20
Q

What is Executive Authority

A

Executive Authority, in the context of materiel engineering and maintenance, to refer to an individual with authority to authorise the design, procurement, modification, maintenance and use of materiel, and the commitment of enabling resources.

21
Q

What is FTA(H)

A

The FTA Harbour Phase is an assessment of engineering plant and personnel. It provides an extensive Class-specific assessment on the material condition of systems, equipment, and compartments and functional performance of equipment and systems that can be operated in harbour. The SwMA and Harbour Acceptance Trial (HAT) procedures are used to evaluate each DE. It additionally evaluates competencies of qualified engineering watch keeping personnel through review and examination.

22
Q

What is limited supervision

A

Occurs when work is carried out with little face-to-face supervision or intervention

23
Q

What is routine supervision

A

Occurs when work is carried out with minimal intervention from the supervisor

24
Q

What is the basin trial

A

The basin trial is a class specific assessment that includes the operation of the entire marine engineering plant to evaluate if it can be safely operated in harbour.

25
What is the Hierarchy of Controls
Elimination Substitution Isolation Engineering Controls Administration Controls PPE
26
What is the long cast
The long cast is issued by a CO and will forecast the next 12 months
27
What is the severity parameters when preparing a HRA
Minor Moderate Major Critical Catastrophic
28
What levels of supervision are normally granted to authorisations
Limited supervision Routine supervision Direct supervision
29
What policy is the DMA held IAW
AFTP 1(D)
30
What WEE inspections (tests and trials) occur and why
Topside Visual Inspection - to ensure all upper deck structures have the correct earthing and bonding configuration - prior to RADHAZ survey - every 2 years Frequency Accuracy Trial - are used to check the accuracy of emitters. Occurs every 5 years or change out of equipment RADHAZ Survey - measures occupational and non occupational distances for RF Emmiters.. concentrated on RERAD - every 2 years EMSEC - looks for transient emanations - every year IFF All ships fitted with IFF are to conduct an approved test and calibration procedure GMDSS Radio Survey - by a class approved surveyor - every year Series Inspections - Inspection of the FBL and PBL of the gun assembly: 600 EFC or annually STFZ - improve engagement risks to personnel and equipment - every 2 years, change system components, change of configuration and loss of confidence in equipment
31
What’s SMGA
Subordinate Material Goverment Authroity have been given limited administration authority to conduct - government and assurance - sponsorship of documentation - conduct of peer review of technical advice
32
When is a SwMA conducted
1. Post corrective maintenance 2. CO/HOD direction 3. EMP - if a system or compartment is on the MWL 4. Prior to a system layup of EMP 5. Fleet or Force commander direction 6. Annual Expiry
33
Who conducts the DMA
The DMA is a Departmental Management Audit which is coordinated by the Force or the Group IAW AFGO 302
34
Who conducts the FTA
Fleet Command Engineering Division
