How does the electoral college work?

A
  1. People vote for electors who are pledged to vote for a candidate (chosen by p party of states)
  2. Electors meet and vote inside the state capital
  3. Congress counts votes
    (if no majority of 270, the House of Representatives votes for the top three candidates)
  4. Winner take all electoral votes, except in Maine and Nebraska
