A

A

Ursodeoxycholic acid → reduces bile salts (safe in pregnancy).
deliver no later than 37 weeks

what is acute fatty liver of pregnancy

A

rapid accumulation of fat within the liver cells (hepatocytes), causing acute hepatitis. There is a high risk of liver failure and mortality, for both the mother and fetus.
- usually in third trimester 35-36 weeks
- very rare
