  • feeling of distension of hypochondrium, chest, epigastrium or abdo (distension is the subjective bloating feeling, which can also be seen & palpated)
  • sighing (spontaneous way to release stagnant Qi in chest)
  • melancholy, depression, moodiness, fluctuation of mental state, ‘feeling wound up’ (the stagnation impedes the ‘coming & going’ of the Hun)
  • feeling of lump in throat (as the internal pathway of the primary channel goes via the throat)
  • IRR periods, distension of breasts pre period, PMS (impairs the movement of Blood & Qi in the Ren Mai & Chong Mai (CV & thoroughfare))

basically the same as liver-blood Xu but the main differences are

  • VERY dry skin and hair
  • Dry throat

Tongue: Scanty/rootless coat (without coating is a key difference b/w the 2)
Pulse: floating-empty
