Memory Item Callout: “PULL UP TOGA”

If the TAWS triggers one of the PULL UP alerts:
Simultaneously:

  • AP. . . OFF
  • PITCH . . . PULL UP
  • THRUST LEVERS . . . TOGA
  • SPEED BRAKES. . . CHECK RETRACTED
  • BANK. . . WINGS LEVEL or ADJUST
  • DO NOT CHANGE CONFIGURATION UNTIL CLEAR OF OBSTACLE

  • CREW OXY MASKS . . . USE

  • If A/THR is not active:
    • THR LEVERS . . . IDLE
  • SPD BRK . . . FULL

LOSS OF BRAKING

If no braking:

  • REV . . . MAX
  • BRAKE PEDALS . . . RELEASE
  • A/SKID OFF . . . ORDER
  • A/SKID and N/W STRG . . . OFF
  • BRAKE PEDALS . . . PRESS
  • MAX BRK PR . . . 1000 PSI

If still no braking:

  • PARKING BRAKE . . . SHORT AND SUCCESSIVE APPLICATIONS

The airplane automatically limits max pressure to 1,000 psi.

STALL RECOVERY

A

Memory Item Callout: “STALL, I HAVE CONTROL”

  • NOSE DOWN PITCH CONTROL . . . APPLY
  • BANK . . . WINGS LEVEL

When out of stall (no longer stall indications)

  • THRUST . . . INCREASE SMOOTHLY AS NEEDED
  • SPEEDBRAKES . . . CHECK RETRACTED
  • FLIGHT PATH . . . RECOVER SMOOTHLY

If below 20,000 and clean:

  • FLAPS 1 . . . SELECT

STALL WARNING AT LIFT-OFF

A

Memory Item Callout: “Stall, TOGA 15 DEGREES”

If stall warnings trigger at liftoff, apply the following immediate actions:

  • THRUST . . . TOGA

AT THE SAME TIME:

  • PITCH . . . 15º
  • BANK . . . WINGS LEVEL

TCAS WARNINGS

A

Memory Item Callout: “TCAS BLUE” or “TCAS I HAVE CONTROL.”

When the TCAS RA is triggered, if AP/FD TCAS is available:

  • FD ORDERS . . . FOLLOW
  • AUTOPILOT . . . MAY BE ENGAGED
  • VERTICAL SPEED . . . MONITOR

If AP/FD TCAS is NOT available:

  • AP (if engaged) . . . OFF
  • BOTH FDs . . . OFF

Respond promptly and smoothly.

  • VERTICAL SPEED . . . ADJUST OR MAINTAIN, as required, to reach the green area and / or avoid the red area of the vertical speed scale.

UNRELIABLE SPEED INDICATION

A

Memory Item Callout: “UNRELIABLE SPEED”

If the safe conduct of flight is impacted:

  • AP . . . OFF
  • A/THR . . . OFF
  • FD . . . OFF
  • PITCH / THRUST
    • Below THR RED ALT. . . 15º / TOGA
    • Above THR RED ALT and Below FL 100 . . .10º / CL
    • Above THR RED ALT and Above FL 100 . . . 5º / CL
  • FLAPS (if CONF 0-3). . . MAINTAIN CONFIG
  • FLAPS (if CONF FULL) . . . SELECT CONF 3 AND MAINTAIN
  • SPEEDBRAKES. . . CHECK RETRACTED
  • L/G . . . UP

When at or above MSA or Circuit Altitude, level off for troubleshooting.

WINDSHEAR WARNING (REACTIVE)

A

Memory Item Callout: “WINDSHEAR TOGA”

During takeoff, before V1:

  • If there are significant variations in airspeed, and an airspeed trend below the indicated V1, reject the takeoff.

If after V1:

  • THR LEVERS . . . TOGA
  • REACHING VR . . . ROTATE
  • SRS ORDERS . . . FOLLOW

If necessary, the flight crew may pull the sidestick fully back.

Airborne, initial climb, or landing:

  • THR LEVERS AT TOGA . . . SET OR CONFIRM
  • AP (if engaged) . . . KEEP ON
  • SRS ORDERS . . . FOLLOW

NOTES:

  • Do not change configuration until out of windshear
  • Carefully monitor flight path and speed
  • When out of windshear, smoothly recover normal climb
