- Similar to circulatory system as a whole

- Electrons can flow down many paths
- Similar to the systemic circulatory system
How is blood flow both serial and parallel in the circulatory system?
- Overall circulation is serial (left heart → body → right heart → lungs → left heart)
- Systemic circulation is parallel, blood branches to supply all organs and tissues simultaneously before returning to the heart
