Q

What caused the Nepal earthquake

A

Nepal sits on a 1000 km fault line
-collision plate boundary
-both are continental plates so they are out under great pressure and are folded and faulted
-when plates slip and fault line breaks high magnitude earthquakes form
-the pressure builds as Indian plate moves 5 cm a year and the plates stick and then suddenly give way
