What Is Figma?
-Figma is a collaborative interface design tool
-Allows collaboration when designing prototypes for websites, apps, webpages etc.
How to Use figma?
-When starting a any design in figma you can start from a template or a blank canva
-Any already created projects can be found in “All projects” and will also show up in your home page in your recently viewed
File Tool
On the left side of the screen the file section is used to sort through everything present in your project I.E pictures, shapes, different assets, layers and pages.
Assets Tool
-The Assets tab (also on the left side of the screen) allows you to pull assets from figmas library such as buttons for prototypes, devices templates, or different nav icons.
Actions Tools
-The actions tab (Located at the bottom of the screen on the tools bar) allows you to look for different ways to spruce up your design such as finding an application to stretch or curve words/letters or have an app stylize your design for you.
Design Tool
-The design tab (Located on the right side of the screen) allows you to see the details of whatever is selected at the time. Most details of any selected object can be altered to your liking like giving a square curve or changing the size & stroke of text.
Varibles Tool
-The variables tab (Located in the design tab) allows you to save colors, numbers, text, and states to reuse them in styles, prototypes across different files.
Styles Tools
-Styles (Located below Variables) lets you change the text, color, effect and layout of your whole design and individual parts of it like the pictures and shapes.
Export Tool
-Export (Located under styles) allows you to export your file or specified aspects of it out of figma as a png, Jpeg, svg, or pdf.
How do you enable the Frame Tool?
Enable the Frame tool by selecting it in the toolbar, or by using one of the keyboard shortcuts: F or A.
How do you create a page?
Creating the Page through File → New Design file
What does a single object contain when prototyping?
Any number of the following triggers:
- Key/Gamepad
- On drag
- When video hits
One of each of the following triggers:
- On click / On tap
- While hovering
- While pressing
- Mouse enter
- Mouse leave
- Mouse down / Touch press
- Mouse up / Touch release
- After delay
- When video ends
