Signs of shock?
pallor, increased HR, prolonged cap refill, oliguria.
BP < 90mmHg
Causes of hypovolaemic shock? (3)
Bleeding
Dehydration
Burns
Causes of cardiogenic shock? (4)
MI
Arrythmias (VT, AF),
Cardiac tamponade
Tension pneumothorax
Intital Mx of shock?
Oxygen IV access (fluids) ABG Bloods: FBC, U&E's, CRP, glucose, amylase, cross-match clotting Blood cultures
Mx and investigations of cardiogenic shock?
Diamorphine 2.5-5mg (pain)
Investigations (ECG, U&Es, cardiac enzymes/troponin, ABG, CXR, echo, CT thorax)
