Q

What are PMG’s
Permanent magnetic generators?

A

3 PMGs, 2 left engine, 1 right engine
Primary source of power for Flight controls independent from main AC electrical system and each other directly driven when engine turning.
A secondary source for Flight control power is provided by the airplanes 28 V DC bus distribution system and the main battery. In addition a backup system is provided by dedicated batteries to assure positive Flight control operation during temporary power interruptions
